I have a passion for therapy and psycho-educational training. I love counseling and coaching individuals, couples, families, and training groups. I also have a diversified amount of experience having practiced in NYC, rural Mississippi, and Atlanta, GA. I look forward to continuing my work in counseling, coaching, and training with new clients.
Work Experience
December 2022 - Present
January 2016 - December 2022
In my current positions I work as both a Psycho-educational Trainer and a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). As a Psycho-educational Trainer, I create content, curriculum and facilitate trainings on therapeutic modalities, mental health conditions such as trauma, diagnosis, brain health, and coping methods using the latest research, developments, and statistics in the mental health and social services field. I have also continued my work as a psychotherapist working with individuals, couples, and families and as an EMDR Trained Therapist and as a Certified Life Coach. I also have a certification in Business Management Consulting which enables me to help business owners work through organizational challenges, improve communications and morale with staff, and help to develop and implement solutions to create positive change in workplace culture.
After taking a small hiatus from the mental health field, I decided to go back to graduate school in 2011. After completing my Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling, I began interning and eventually fully practicing as a psychotherapist. I have worked with clients in New York, Mississippi, Georgia, and South Carolina conducting both in-person and virtual psychotherapy services in private practices and non-profit organizations. I have worked with individuals, children, adults, couples, families, and groups.
July 2002 - October 2006
After completing my undergraduate education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, I worked in an entry level position as a Mental Health Technician for 5 years at UMMC in the state of Mississippi. I gained experience working with patients with various mental illnesses in both adult and pediatric psychiatry.
